1971年にジョン・レノン（John Lennon, 1940-1980）とオノ・ヨーコによって書かれたクリスマスソング。バックコーラスは米国ニューヨークのハーレム・コミュニティ・クワイア（Harlem Community Choir）の子供たちで、当時起こっていたベトナム戦争に対する反戦のメッセージを込めて、二人が当時世界中の新聞広告やポスターに出していた「戦争は終わる、きみが望むなら…（War is over, if you want it.）」のメッセージがコーラスの歌詞に入っています。
